History
Born during the 2020 municipal elections in Belém, the Pororoka Collective unites activists, artivists and communicators who share the mission of mobilizing and engaging society in collective struggles that strengthen the construction of a world where people and nature can coexist in harmony and with guaranteed rights.
Since our founding, we have believed in the power of politically engaged communication and art, and we have used media activism and artivism as tools for socialization and engagement in social struggles for rights, land and a dignified life in the Amazon. We see these platforms as a force to unite people through the sharing of knowledge, experiences and collective dreams.
In the current context, in which the Amazon faces a series of challenges related to the climate crisis, Pororoka gains even more strength and relevance by promoting art as a means of resistance and awareness, strengthening collective struggles for a fairer and more sustainable future for all the peoples of the Amazon, keeping alive the hope for transformation and preservation of the region.
