The State at the Service of Oil: A New Offensive Against the Amazon
By authorizing oil exploration at the mouth of the Amazon, Ibama violates the fundamental rights of indigenous peoples and traditional communities of Oiapoque.
Initiatives

A volunteer network of artists mobilized to defend the Amazon and its people. Our goal is to bring together people who believe in the power of art for social transformation and, together, build a community of engaged artists, organized in a network, who strengthen the struggles within the Amazon territories, through plural artistic languages.

A virtual platform that brings together exhibitions, articles, and information about the actions of the Artivistas Network for the Amazon. The Cyber Atelier is also a repository of freely shareable artivist works, made available by the Network for social movements and civil society in campaigns to defend the Amazon and its peoples.

The Artivist Lab is a space for theoretical and practical research on artivist experiences in the Amazon, focused on the collective training of artists who are part of the Artivist Network. A partnership between FotoAtiva and Pororoka, the lab encourages exchanges of experiences, knowledge sharing, workshops, and practices that combine research, artistic production, and activism to strengthen advocacy efforts in the Amazon.
